The following file was a direct recording into Power Tracks Pro. It is a result of feedback recieved from the Windcontroller forum on the Zoom H2 recording which is the very next file.  This is an effort to get the section sounds to be more like a real acoustic horn section.  I tried to follow as many suggestions as I could. Pitch bend has been modified on each patch within each layer. The patches were all eq'd separately and played in Stereo with different internal synth effects. Volume levels were changed as well as some of the instrument patches.

New patches 5-10-08

Driving Up has my new Alto Sax in the first solo, then on Synthophone are Real Flute , and EWI solos. 5-2-08

Driving Up

Home Town is a collaborative effort with Mick Emery. The song started life from a royalty free partial midi file from www.pdinfo.com. The track was purchased on CD from their Midi Track Series.  Mick provided the special effects, the horn section, and the 1st and last solos. I did the middle solo, the song production, and the final mix. Yes

2 VL70m's and XV-2020 demo

Zonin

Zonin started life in BIAB. The choir  and melody was added using a Synthophone. My friend Mick Emery used PT pro to record the second Synthophone solo. The final mix was done in Cakewalk Sonar.

Ascension

Lead patch Jobim (VL70m Patchman Turbo)
Played on a Synthophone. Backing track created in BIAB and mixed in Cakewalk Sonar.

Right Door

This song was created in BIAB. The chord changes and  are my own. I  played the Synthophone with Patchman's HrmMtTpt.

It's Not To Late

The section work was done with layers of the VL70m EWI Lead and the XV2020 TowerBrs  UN . The solo was the VL70m EWI Lead .

First Take

As the name implies this was done in one take. The patch used is the Turbo VL EWI. The backing track was done in BIAB with a Norton Music's Style.

Jamboliya

Time Travel

Bluesberry Jam

Right Time

Right Time  is played with  the Real Flt Patch  from the VL Turbo.

Azooba

Spanish Guitar .  The patch used is the Turbo VL SpainGtr.
The Style used in BIAB was Norton Music's Jazz Mambo Style Disc #9.

Rain Play

Rain Play is another guitar patch more in the Pat Methany mode. The  chords and and background  are from the  Melodist  feature in Band-in-a Box. The BIAB file was converted to a midi file ,and  edited in Cakewalk Sonar. The section  instruments were from the Roland XV-2020 synth module. The guitar patch from  Patchman's "Pat" was added to the wave mix in Sonar.

What4

The backing track to What4 was created in Band-in-a-Box 2004 useing the melodist feature. Once the track was finished it was rendered  to a wave file with the Roland VSC Virtual Sound Card. It was then recorded  into stereo tracks on a Fostex MR-8 digital recorder. The Getz Turbo VL patch was used throughout the tune, and was recorded in two steps not including the backing track.

Blues 1

Blues1 offers a chance to showcase a few different instruments from the Turbo VL. There is Blues Harrmonica, Muted Trumpet, Brecker Tenor, and a blend of voices for the horn section.

Band In A Box (BIAB) is a music program that gives musician's and hobbiest players the ability of creating thier own backing tracks. I found it very useful for learning tunes as well as printing out parts in notation. It is also a great practice tool.
The best part is that it is great fun. See the links section and check out PG Music, Notes Norton, and the Web Ring link on my home page for the Yahoo BIAB Group.
