This website was created from the inspiration of playing the Yamaha WX5 Windcontroller. I still play Tenor and Alto
sax, and I used to play Flute as well as Harmonica. The Windcontroller will let me do those extra instruments now.The Windcontroller
allows a musician to play a variety of sounds that have the capability of sounding like just about any acoustic instrument.
As a bonus there is also the fun of layering synths to produce horn sections and orchestra sounds.
----------------------------------------------------------
My latest windcontroller obsession is the Synthophone!
This is a midi saxophone. Martin Hurni in Switzerland builds these fine instruments using Yamaha and Selmer Saxophones. He
installs the electronics and sensors in his shop. I have a link to Erik Klein's site in the links page. Erik is the Synthophone
guru and mentor to all about Synthophones and windcontrollers in general. The Synthophone has replaced the WX5 as my windcontroller
of choice. The Synthophone is used with the 3 Yamaha VL70m's with the custom Patchman Turbo Chip.
I'm not sure how it happened but I rekindled my love of the Sax. I recently purchased a TopSax Legend Alto, custom built to
the specifications of Bob Campbell. It is a fantastic horn at a great price.
It is a monster of a horn that will let me be aggressive and subtle when I need to.
See the links page to view gig rigs from other players as well as equipment and some Windcontroller Music from
around the World.
